High-capacity containerized BESS optimizing energy management in Germany

The project developed for Fluence in Munich integrates a containerized energy storage solution designed to provide operational flexibility and efficiency in an industrial environment linked to the gas sector. With a capacity of 5 MWh and a power of 3 MW, the system allows for dynamic energy management, adapting to consumption needs and optimizing interaction with the electrical grid.

The solution integrates batteries, power electronics, HVAC systems, safety, fire protection, and advanced alarm and control systems into an industrialized container ready for operation. This approach allows energy to be stored during periods of low demand and released strategically, improving system stability and reducing energy costs. Implemented in 2018, the project anticipates the key role of storage in the energy transition of traditional sectors towards more efficient and sustainable models.

Industrial Energy Flexibility

The BESS system allows energy consumption to be adapted to the real needs of the installation, storing energy and releasing it according to demand. This capability improves operational efficiency and reduces exposure to electricity market fluctuations in intensive industrial environments.

Integrated Technical Container

The solution is deployed in a container that integrates batteries, inverters, HVAC climate control, and control systems. This compact architecture facilitates transport, installation, and maintenance, reducing commissioning times and ensuring reliable operation from day one.

Balanced Power and Capacity

With 5 MWh of storage and 3 MW of power, the system offers an optimal balance between energy capacity and operational response. This configuration allows for efficient charge and discharge cycles, ensuring stability in industrial processes and providing strategic value to energy management.
